Total marks- 10
Section – 1
Find out the correct answers:
1. Suppose you are conducting a random experiment of throwing a coin until you get the first head.
(a) The sample space is – (i) finite ; (ii) Countable but not finite; (iii) not countable.
(b) Let Y denotes the number of tosses before getting the first head, then Y is a – (i) variable but not a random variable; (ii) Y is a random variable; (iii) Y is a constant.
2. Suppose you have rolled a dice twice-
(a) Let X denotes the number of sixes you have. Then the support of X is- (i){1,2}; (ii){0,1}; {0,1,2}
(b) The value of P[X=1] is – (i)1/36; (ii)5/18; (iii)25/36
Section – 2
1. Conduct an experiment of tossing a coin 30 times. Mention the sample space. From the obtained sample space make a statement about the biasedness of the coin.
Note: When Probability of getting head in a single toss is not ½ then we consider that coin is biased. (Don’t give arbitrary sample space without conducting the experiment and don't copy it from others.)
